Modded Xbox 360 Controllers Tom December 21, 2008 Gaming Apparently there are such things as Modded Xbox 360 Controllers that are basically turbo controllers. I guess they are used in games like Call of Duty and other first person shooters. I only know this because I was just accused of using one in Call of Duty 4. I’ve honestly never even heard of people using them until last night when we were at my cousin’s house for Christmas and his kid was talking about them. I knew there were turbo controllers back in the NES and SNES days, but I had no clue people still used them on modern consoles. I’ll admit, I play Call of Duty 4 a little more than normal, but it’s a great game and I’ve always been good at it. Ever since Call of Duty 2 and the M1 Garand, I’ve always liked using the single shot guns more due to the low level of recoil. Naturally I just developed a retardedly fast trigger finger. Especially in CoD2 since the Garand couldn’t be reloaded mid-clip, you had to run the clip all the way out in order to reload, so I got good at emptying clips at people so I got a reload. In Call of Duty 4, I’ve been using the G3 ever since I unlocked it and I guess I just never realized how fast I’m able to empty a clip. I didn’t even win the matches I was playing in, which is actually odd for me, but these guys were decent. So I don’t even know why they thought I had one of these controllers. Now I’m curious if I have a faster finger than these modified controllers. If I really cared that these kids think I use a modded controller I might make a video showing off my ridiculously creepy fingers, but I actually take it as a compliment so I’ll let them think what they want to think. Does anyone have one of these controllers? Are they really that much of a help? Seems like they’d only be worth it with single shot guns, and those guns aren’t that powerful… I guess they could be used in Gears of War 2 to win chainsaw battles, but that just seems stupid. Update: So after watching a few videos on YouTube of these modded controllers, I guess I can kinda see why these guys thought I had one. The video above is an example of a modded controller shooting the G3, which is what I use, and the Desert Eagle pistol. I think I’m pretty comparable to the G3, but there is no way in hell I can pull the trigger that fast with the Deagle. But that’s only one video, there must be more than one way to mod these controllers because another video I watched last night (which I can’t embed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFA39vYryPM ) had the G3 shooting way faster than this video does. There’s no way I can pull my finger as fast as that mod.
