The final Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC map pack is coming to Xbox Live on August 27th with 2 all new maps, 2 repurposed maps and an all new zombie map. Pod, Frost, Takeoff and Dig, along with zombie map “Origins” will be the last of the DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 before Ghosts comes out in the fall. “Takeoff” is a reimagining of the popular map “Stadium” and “Dig” draws it’s inspiration from “Courtyard”.

I’m not too sure how I feel about these map packs just “reimagining” maps from the previous games. I get that there are some extremely popular maps from the previous Call of Duty games, but the whole point of these new games is to bring new maps to the table. I think what they should do is allow all of these DLC map packs to be played for free (if you purchased them) for all the future iterations of the Call of Duty games. I have a Golden Tee arcade machine at home that has every course from 2000 through 2007 on it, so why can’t they do that with Call of Duty. None of the graphics on the courses were updated, they just threw them on the machine so you could play them… seems like a good idea to me. We already paid for those older maps, why not let us use them for future games?
