Verizon iPhone 4 Showing Similar Antenna Issues Tom February 9, 2011 Other Clips, Technology I’m sure you recall the “antennagate” issues that the iPhone 4 had when it was first released, well now it appears that things haven’t been fixed in the Verizon version despite what people thought. According to the iLounge video above, if you grip the Verizon iPhone 4 in a similar manner to that of the AT&T iPhone 4, you can replicate the signal degradation that was the topic of conversation for weeks after it’s release. I don’t know if Apple is going to start offering free cases or anything, but the video pretty much proves that the antenna issues are still there despite claims of the contrary. Honestly though, I’ve had an iPhone 4 since launch and I’ve never had the issue with the “death grip”. Sure I can replicate it if I tried, but I don’t hold my phone that way so it’s never bothered me. And actually there have been other videos out there showing that there are certain spots on most cell phones (not just the iPhone 4) that when held will cause the signal to be drastically reduced. So this is far from an iPhone 4 specific issue, but since it’s such a high profile phone it seems to be getting the brunt of the complaints. Mr. Belding yeah who holds their phone like they are doing extra curricular activities in their bedroom? sign..
