Pardon my language, but how fucking cool is this!?! The same company that brought Mariah Carey to life in 5 different countries for a simultaneous concert a couple years ago has brought 2Pac back to life to perform live with Dr. Dre and Snoop dog at Coachella 2012. Some people are saying it’s disrespectful to Tupac and his legacy and blah, blah, blah… but this is hands down amazing. I do have one concern over this though… artists getting lazy. The hologram is cool and all and it’s extremely cool to see a man, taken before his time, come out and perform with the people that surrounded him before his death, but it still doesn’t compare to seeing the actual artist live. I know I’m just being paranoid, but I hope the wave of the future isn’t holographic concerts where the artist can just record the whole thing on a sound stage and then make money while sitting at home doing nothing. For the moment though, it’s so fucking cool to see 2Pac back on stage performing to a group of people, most of which weren’t even alive when he was alive… gotta love technology.
