Transformers: Cybertron Complete DVD Review

We are back with the final chapter of the Transformers Unicron trilogy; Transformers: Cybertron. With the destruction of the planet devouring Unicron, a blackhole has been left in its wake that is threatening to destroy the Transformers home planet Crybertron. This causes the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS to travel to Earth and disguise themselves to fit in.

Optimus Prime, leader of the AUTOBOTS, is visited by a robot by the name of Vector Prime, whom informs Optimus about the Cyber Planet Keys. These keys, described as relics are the only way to slow down and destroy the black hole, thus saving their home world from getting destroyed. The only problem that lies ahead is that the keys are all hidden on different planets. Vector had in his possession a map, but said map was stolen by the evil Megatron, leader of the DECEPTICONS.

This causes a race against time between the AUTOBOTS and the DECEPTICONS to recover the keys and have supreme control of Cybertron. The AUTOBOTS befriend 3 humans kids whom help the AUTOBOTS to procure the Omega Lock, which focuses the power of the keys. Transformers: Cybertron is a fun filled ride full of kickass robot battles and exciting adventures. This 7-disc, 52 episode packed collection will not fail to deliver.

The detail and color of the robots is very impressive. You can definitely tell that they focused hardcore on making them the center point. The colors are vibrant and the levels stay strong throughout. Overall, this is a pretty good looking video. The audio is quite decent, granted that you only have one option. There are not any issues with it along the lines of hisses or overpowering dialogue. The sound effects are pretty crisp and clear giving you a nice experience during battles. As far as special features go, this collection is pretty barebones. For me thats ok, I am not really a special features kinda guy.

Overall, if you’re a transformers nut, like i guess i am, then you gotta pick this up. If you own the first two of this series, I am sure you already own it. Its some good ole fashioned robot fun, and you will not be disappointed. Until next time! And a special shout of to the amazing folks over at ShoutFactory!
