Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory: Welcome, Big Black (4/4/11)

fantasy factory welcome big black

Season 4 of Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory kicks off tonight with the return of Christopher “Big Black” Boykin. For those of you that have followed “Rob and Big” since the beginning you’re obviously aware that Big Black has been MIA for awhile and Rob went on to do the Fantasy Factory show. I’m sure most of you just believe that he left because he had a kid and was getting married and wanted to do that whole thing for a while, but there’s more to the story than that. I don’t want to get into it because I don’t know either of them and only got my information through magazine articles which were each of their sides of the story so who knows what the truth is, but what I do know is that things seem to be ok now and Big Black is back!! I just hope this doesn’t push Drama out of the forefront of the show, because his interaction with Rob is classic.

So here we go, another season of ridiculousness from Rob, Big, Drama and Big Cat is about to begin…

Welcome, Big Black
Justin Bieber stops by the factory and Rob’s best friend, Christopher “Big Black” Boykin (“Rob and Big”) returns in the Season 4 opener. Also: Rob gets chased by a 400-lb. tiger.

Welcome to the Fantasy Factory Big Black and Justin Bieber! I’m not quite sure why Justin Bieber was at the Factory, but Rob did surprise him with a “JB” T-Rex after making him do some stunts around the place. Actually I take that back, I’m pretty sure Justin Bieber was at the Factory because most of the people that love Justin Bieber would probably also enjoy Rob and his antics, so a little cross-promotion never hurt. Like I said, Bieber was in the Factory for all of 5 minutes of air time and that was it.

On the other side of the title screen Rob comes into the Factory with a large box on a forklift. As he’s doing donuts in the middle of the floor, the box slides off the forklift and breaks on the ground. Apparently this plexiglass box is a “death box” in which you sit whilst tigers are roaming around the outside of it… but now it’s broken and cost $15,000! Rob’s big idea is to get attacked by an enormous tiger while Drama, Chanel and the rest of the crew sit inside the box and watch, but he needs something to help him practice… and that’s where Big Black comes in! We’re lead to believe that BB is back in the area and looking for office space to expand his “BB” clothing line, but we all know it was a setup just to get him back on the show because it’s what the fans have wanted. Rob hooks him up with a temporary office up in “corpo” for the time being and invites him to be part of the tiger experience.

Big Black dresses up in a big tiger costume and shows Rob what it’s going to be like being attacked to a ferocious jungle cat. Meanwhile, Drama is hiding a large bear chair in his office closet which is a gift for Big Black and his office. The problem is, is that Big Black has already found other office space after having been at the Factory for a couple weeks. The setup Rob gave him was only supposed to be temporary, but Rob’s not having any of that and wants Big Black to stay on full time, but he wants it to be a surprise. So while at the tiger attack field Rob has Big’s office made up as a permanent space. Honestly, the tiger attack itself wasn’t as intense as I thought it was going to be and I enjoyed the rest of the episode more. So once back at the office Rob reveals to Big that he wants him to stay and then shows him his office complete with a bear chair and a huge picture of black lavender.

Overall I think the season started out good and I’m looking forward to seeing what Rob and Big have up their sleeves. I’m glad to see that Rob and Big are getting along again and I think it’ll make for some good dynamic on the show, I just hope they don’t push Drama to the back now that Black is back.
