I’ve only seen maybe 2 full episodes of “Glee” in my life, but after watching last night’s episode I just don’t get it. It’s not that I don’t get the appeal of the song portion of it, they sing popular songs and put slight twists on them that make them interesting, but the story lines and editing is so ridiculous I found myself extremely annoyed. Never mind the fact that the story lines themselves are absolutely ridiculous, but just the way the show flows is what annoyed me the most. Ridiculous story lines I can get over, I watched LOST, but when a bunch of people are talking about something in a room and then all of a sudden everyone is in another room, dressed totally different, and singing… that’s where I lose it. There were two scenes in particular last night like this that bugged the hell out of me and just solidified my belief that the show is absolutely terrible. The first one came when the guy in the wheelchair and that irish dude are fighting over the hostess chick from “Waiting…” I can’t remember exactly what was happening before, but I know they weren’t singing or even getting ready to sing, but then all of a sudden wheelchair guy was singing… It literally cut from no singing to singing with no sort of transition or anything. It’s not like the dude was sitting there, rolled into the middle of the room and said, “OK, since I can’t dance for you I’m going to sing you a song” and then started singing. It was just “I’m sitting here in my wheelchair next to you… [CUT TO] Now I’m in front of you singing with all these other dudes.” It was just bizarre. And the part that really bothered me was when he was done, that chick came and jumped on his lap and he winced…. HE’S PARALYZED (or something)… He can’t feel his legs, why would he wince? You could ram nails into his legs all day and he wouldn’t feel it… If the weird singing didn’t take me out of the show, that did. Not to mention that like 3 scenes later that same chick decided she wanted to go out with the Irish guy instead just because he made up some bullshit story that he was getting deported. I think the only way for him to get out of that lie is to become paralyzed. What a weird show…

The other scene that bugged me was when the black chick decided that her and that pretty boy white guy couldn’t be together because she cheated on her previous boyfriend with him and then told someone and then it was a mess and now she’s a racist… or something like that, I couldn’t follow. But again, she breaks out randomly into song as they are all back in the glee room, but don’t worry, we don’t stay there for long. The performance changes venue and outfits more times than I can count and I don’t understand why?!?! There’s no reason to throw the chick on a stage all lit up while the guy is standing by himself in the audience crying like a baby… It makes no sense! Why not just leave the whole thing in the glee room, it would have made sense and probably been more powerful as everyone would have been able to see what was happening.

I don’t know, I know it’s not a “serious” show and a lot of people watch it solely for the music performances and not the story line, but I just don’t get it. Hell, I found “High School Musical” to be more watchable than this garbage. At least in that one they transition into the songs better, granted the songs are 100% original and 100% worse. So that’s it, not really sure why I even felt the need to write this post, but I’m sure there are other people out there that just don’t get it either…
