America’s Best Dance Crew Season 5: Week 5

This week’s recap is going to be a quick one for a couple reasons, 1. I don’t have a lot of time this morning to write and I wanted to get something up and 2. I don’t really have anything bad to say about any of the crews last night, so let’s get to it. This week’s challenge was the Usher Challenge. Each group was given a task by Usher himself to incorporate into their performances. Most of the time it was a dance move, but in one case it was a prop (heelies). I thought overall every group did extremely well and they were all pretty entertaining. If I had to choose one group that I didn’t care for last night it would have been Saltare, but I haven’t liked them from the beginning so if I had to choose another group I would have to Hype 5-0 didn’t really impress me as much as the other crews. Their performance was not bad by any means and they actually seem to “dance” more than any of the other groups, but I don’t know, there was just something about it that I wasn’t feeling. I think it was just the fact that it wasn’t as power and and didn’t grab me like the other performances did. Other than that I though all of the other groups did extremely well and I continue to be impressed by Jungle Boogie and how much energy they have, not to mention how clean their moves are. Poreotix, as much as I liked them and favored them as a contender for the top spot, the whole thing is getting a little old. They tried to be cute and funny with their performance last night and, while good, was a little stale for me. Blueprint Cru is still my favorite to win, but I honestly think the fans of the show are going to swing the votes towards Poreotix in the end.

So overall I liked this weeks performances, but was definitely glad to see Saltare finally get the boot. I think it was Lil Mama that said it last night, it was a little stiff, and that’s what happens when they try to actually dance instead of just putting on a jump rope clinic. It was there time and actually I’m very surprised that they even made it this far. So that’s that, we’re down to the top 4 contenders and honestly it’s a pretty even battle although I’m going to go ahead and make my predictions now for the rest of the season.

4th Place: Hype 5-0
3rd Place: Blueprint Cru
2nd Place: Jungle Boogie
1st Place: Poreotix

As much as I would love to see Blueprint Cru win the whole thing I think that the fans are going to vote Poreotix to the top. What are your predictions for the remaining 4 groups?
