Quantum of Solace Mini Review Complete With Protest Rant Tom November 24, 2008 Movie Reviews, Movies The first direct sequel Bond movie definitely delivered on all levels. It had everything from hot women to heart pounding car chases and action sequences. Overall I enjoyed the movie very much and if you enjoyed Casino Royale, there’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t have seen this one in the theater already. That is unless, of course, you were one of the people picketing outside the Century theater on Saturday night… Yep, that was the scene that we ran into outside the Century Theater in downtown Evanston on Saturday night. I had no idea what was going on other than a bunch of people promoting something to do with gay rights. No don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with gay rights, it’s wrong for them not to have the same rights as everyone else, they are people. And I have no problem with protesting something that you are pationate about, good for you. What I do have a problem with is walking to a movie theater that is being picketed only to get screamed at and bombarded with assholes trying to get me to not see a movie. You have no right to get in my face and tell me that I’m supporting hate against gays because I chose to see a movie at this theater when I had no idea what was going on and it’s the closest theater to my apartment. It’s not like I knew that CEO Alan Stock, donated $9,999 to YES on Prop 8, or whatever, and based on that I chose to give him more money… ugh, alright that’s enough ranting, on with the movie. I liked Quantum of Solace a lot and I really like Daniel Craig as James Bond. The movie is very action packed, especially at the beginning but definitely delivers as a great sequel to Casino Royale. So yeah, this was kind of a lame mini-review, but as I’ve said before, when I really like a movie I tend to not write as much. It’s easier to write about bad points of a movie than the good ones. So go check out the movie if you get a chance, this is definitely a blu-ray buy when it comes out, just watch out for protesters at Century Theaters.
